Owen Sound And Area Branch News

Welcome To  RWTO Owen Sound And Area Branch!

We are an active group of young at heart retired teachers who enjoy Sharing and Caring within our community.

We visit and provide small gifts for those who are ill or can no longer attend meetings, and we send many cards of celebration and caring.  We support the Grey-Bruce Regional Hospital,Grey-Bruce Hospice, Grey-Bruce Museum and the Youth program at the Artist Co-op,Grey Bruce Foundation, Grey Bruce Child and Family Services,Chapman House Hospice, Grey Roots Museum, Salvation Army Food Bank, and Royal Canadian Legion. Each year, we place a wreath at our local cenotaph on Remembrance Day.

Our interest Group Activities continue to be very popular.  We enjoy a First Day of School Breakfast at Harrison Park Inn, Day Away Trips such as our Lunch at Walters Falls followed by a tour and tasting at Georgian Hills Winery; Afternoons at the Movies with Seasons Retirement Residence; a Christmas Craft Activity and our annual Christmas luncheon.  This year we have an number of ladies making crocheted or knitted dishcloths as favours for Convention 2018. We are always looking and listening for events and activities of interest to our members.

Branch Meetings

We meet four times a year at Georgian Shores United Church, 4th Avenue East, Owen Sound.  New members are always welcome.  To learn more about our Branch, or to become a member, please email: pogo@bmts.com or phone 519-794-2837

Our tables are beautifully decorated to match the theme of the meeting.  Beginning at 11:30am our Business Meeting is where we share information and gather ideas from our members.  At noon, we enjoy a delicious Hot Luncheon prepared by the ladies of the church.  Our meetings end with an informative and entertaining program.
