Hamilton-Wentworth Branch News

RWTO Hamilton-Wentworth is a vibrant social club of nearly 300 area retired women teachers, just one of the 51 branches located across the province.  Our members are former Public, Catholic and Private School teachers from the elementary and secondary panels, who gather to enjoy the company of other retirees, excellent programs and community involvement.

With 4 annual luncheons, numerous special events, and 24 Interest Groups (including the 4 Book Clubs and 2 Euchre Groups), our members are actively engaged in activities whenever they wish to be.  Attendance is on a “come when you can” basis – for as retirees, we often lead active lives, including family, friends, faith, community and travel. In our more senior years, our organization provides newsletters, and occasional visits, gifts and cards, in keeping with our motto of “Caring and Sharing”.

Come & enjoy our adventures!

Message for Delta Secondary School Teachers & Grads

With the closing of Delta Secondary School in June 2018, opportunities to visit “the school we love so well” are becoming very limited.

On May 26, 1967, a time capsule cylinder was lowered into the ground in the northeast corner of the front lawn with the promise that it will be raised for all to see again in fifty years. Next year the time capsule will be raised after the fifty year commitment is fulfilled. Although the actual date for the raising of the capsule has not yet been confirmed at this point, it is our hope that it would occur fifty years to the day on Friday May 26, 2017.

We would like to see as many of the graduates from the class of 1967 as possible attend the event when it does happen next year. If you know of anyone that was there when the ceremony took place and they are not members of the alumni association, please let them know about it. They can get in touch with us by using the contact information in this newsletter.

Please use the following information below to contact us. We will try to answer your request as soon as we can.
