Hamilton-Wentworth Branch News

RWTO Hamilton-Wentworth is a vibrant social club of nearly 300 area retired women teachers, just one of the 51 branches located across the province.  Our members are former Public, Catholic and Private School teachers from the elementary and secondary panels, who gather to enjoy the company of other retirees, excellent programs and community involvement.

With 4 annual luncheons, numerous special events, and over 20 Interest Groups (including the 4 Book Clubs and 2 Euchre Groups), our members are actively engaged in activities whenever they wish to be.  Attendance is on a “come when you can” basis – for as retirees, we often lead active lives, including family, friends, faith, community and travel. In our more senior years, our organization provides newsletters, and occasional visits, gifts and cards, in keeping with our motto of “Caring and Sharing”.

Come & enjoy our adventures!

Covid safety measures has once again required some changes to our RWTO/OERO Hamilton-Wentworth Branch plans.

We have cancelled the following events:

While we continue to battle the Covid virus and await our vaccinations, our plans continue to adjust. We have put some new events into motion:

“The Ontario Caregiver Organization” Zoom workshop on

Friday, March 12 at 10:00 am.

“Laugh Yourself Healthy” Zoom workshop on

Wednesday, April 21, 1:30 pm

We continue to support the needy in our region in a variety of ways, e.g., May 12th Spring Community Charity Drive-Thru  which is detailed below. Perhaps we will be able to plan some outdoor get-togethers by summer, if our vaccination schedules hold!

Please continue to limit your forays from home, to mask, stay socially distanced and stay safe. Please continue to connect virtually with family and friends, to keep up our morale and mental health.

Consider enjoying some of our virtual get-together options, as outlined in our newsletters and zoom workshops. Better times are coming, eventually!

Stay strong, stay connected, stay flexible! We are RWTO women, and we are resilient!

Yours in caring and sharing,

Lynn Anderton, President
