Kitchener-Waterloo

Kitchener Branch ~ May 2022
Wearing RWTO Blue & Gold for our 60th Anniversary Celebration
Dear RWTO Members,
Today I reflected on some of my past ‘First day’ experiences as both a mother and teacher as I watched my neighbours’ children board the school bus. I am sure you can recall stories too that may bring a tear but I hope as well, a smile to your face.
As we look forward to a new year in RWTO, this email is being sent to inform you of updates and opportunities.
As a retiree, I am reminded of this quote.
“The excitement of learning separates youth from old age. As long as you are learning, you are not old.”
R. S. Yalow

So with this in mind, to help you keep learning, I share the following:
First ~ Four amazing Workshops via Zoom offered to all members by Provincial to hone your internet communication skills.
Please check it out:       rwto.org/branches/communication-convenors/

Second ~ An attachment of our chapter’s
with dates, times, speakers, interest groups, executive contact info….
Please print and/or reserve dates on your calendars.
Third ~ A reminder to be alert to phone and internet SCAMS.
Do not give personal information ~ S.I.N., Bank Account, Birthday ….
(A member was accosted twice by phone.)
Looking forward to seeing you at our next meeting via zoom on September 23rd when we will be privileged to hear Anne Innis Dagg share about her journey as a Giraffe Researcher.
Until then stay safe and continue to bless and be blessed,
Jane Sherk
(On behalf of the K-W Executive)
