Three times each year, our meetings include a delicious meal prepared by one of our own, Marilyn Snedden, and her helpers at Beamsville Trinity United Church.
Thursday, November 22, 2018. Our annual Christmas Dinner, with all the trimmings, is lovingly prepared by the WAVES of Great Lakes Christian College, Beamsville. We meet at the Beamsville Church of Christ on John Street. Sharron Coulter, RWTO President and Kathy Smith, Area 13 Director, were our guests. Six of our Members were the lucky winners of the Poinsettia centre pieces.
Our members bring in new children’s books that we donate to West Lincoln Community Care. We also take a monetary collection for West Niagara Community Care.
After a wee Christmas Quiz of ‘Name the Politically Corrected Christmas Carol’, we were musically entertained by Ginny Bridle and her husband Terry, ending with a carol sing-along.
Thursday, September 20, 2018. ‘Miss Welstead’ (Beth LaBrie) from the Jordan Historical Interpretive Centre gave us several lessons of decorum, penmanship and an inside look at being a student in the 1908 “Strict but Nice” Schoolhouse Program. After checking our hands and nails in the daily hygiene inspection, we were instructed to stand and sit in four various positions.
Miss Welstead showed us the ‘undergarments’ that female teachers were required to wear daily. Beth Wagner tried to gain favour by presenting the teacher with an apple.
Thursday, June 21, 2018. Our luncheon decoration theme was a summer picnic, with red plaid table cloths but NO ants!
On the Left: After Hope Martin gave the RWTO Convention Report, Lois Lockhart, Provincial President, presented Geraldine Kelter with her Cora Bailey Award for her outstanding service to our Lincoln West Branch.
On the Right: Laurena Brouwer at the ready at our 50/50 draw and information table.
Our speaker from EFN – Education Foundation of Niagara gave us insight into their hard work helping students in Niagara to achieve success through many projects and special events. One such event is the ‘Prom Project’ which ensures that all students will be able to choose those special outfits for Prom nights.
Thursday, April 19, 2018. Two representatives from Manulife Insurance, Terry Kennedy and Anne Wilde, updated us on our wonderful Home and Hospital Care policies.
They provided us with a wonderful and clear over view of what RWTO Members have available and answered all of questions.
