Palmerston Branch News

“Caring and Sharing” is the Motto of RWTO/OERO and the Palmerston & Area Branch. If you are a retired teacher living in the Palmerston, Harriston, Drayton, Mount Forest, Arthur or surrounding area you are most welcome to join us.

We have about 75 members young and old. We mix, mingle, socialize and give back to our communities. We have four business luncheons a year. They are held at the Knox Presbyterian Church in Palmerston, the third Friday of the month: September, October, April and May. the meeting starts at 10:45 am with a meet and greet. The meeting is at 11:15 am and the meal at 12:00.

We have three social outings a year. A Brunch on the first day of school at Pike Lake, a Christmas lunch and a Strawberry Social in June.

We have several special interest groups that members are welcome to join.  The Walking Club explores various trails and conservation areas; the Film Circuit experiences a variety of films at the Norgan Theatre in Palmerston; the Book Club reads current titles and meets for discussion five times a year.  Our newest Group “In Our Own Back Yard” organizes special excursions to places of interest close to home.  Above all that we have a Travel Group that organizes trips to an interesting array of venues and locations.
