Welcome To The St. Thomas-Elgin Branch 2018-2019!
The St Thomas-Elgin Branch of RWTO/OERO continues to be an active group of approximately 140 ladies. Community projects keep us individually and collectively busy. Regularly supported charities and programs include our three Elgin Food Banks, Christmas Care, Women’s Shelter, Violence Against Women, and our special Backpack Project.
September began with a Coffee Break where new retirees and special guests were introduced, welcomed and honoured. Lunch meetings happen during the months of October, November, December (with RTO), March, April, May, and June at different venues across our County. Each meeting starts with a social visiting time, lunch at 12 noon, followed by a brief business meeting and then the highlight “fun activity”. These range from guest speakers, musicians, fashion shows, dancercise, tours, seasonal flower arranging and decorating to a silent and quarter auction, which is a major highlight. It is always so nice to reconnect with former colleagues and friends!
Members receive monthly emails or phone calls where they commit (or not) to attending that month’s meeting. Each month we pay $25 for our delicious meals.
Our group has a wonderful time together and new members are always welcome, whether newly retired or retired for awhile.
If you are not already a member of our Branch please join us at a meeting as a visitor or contact one of the Executive listed below. We look forward to welcoming you!!
