I am pleased to share the following posting from the Birchway Niagara Facebook page. Congratulations, Cheryl, on this well-deserved honour.

Last week, Cheryl Scott, Birchway Niagara’s longest-serving volunteer, was honoured for her incredible dedication, especially to the Birchway Book Riot. Cheryl joined our team in 1982, almost as soon as our first shelter opened in Niagara Falls (Nova House near Five Corners). She served on the Book Riot event committee and provided leadership for our sorting team for many years. She has seen the event grow, and move from venue to venue and has been a critical part of its success for decades. To this day she continues to work at the event selling fudge and raffle tickets to anyone willing to indulge! She has also donated time to volunteering at the office and community events to raise awareness of our services and the issue of gender-based violence. Cheryl, thank you for everything you have poured into supporting women and children impacted by abuse.
