Dorothy Rapaich
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Wife, Mother and Nana, Dorothy Rapaich on February 20, 2025 at 83 years of age.
Beloved wife and best friend of 56 years to Nick. Cherished Mother of Nicole Ferrari (Joe), Melissa Smith (Chris), Michael Rapaich and her sweet grandsons Michael Nikola and Luka Jovan.
Dorothy was fortunate enough to have a wonderful brother James Birney (Gena), nephews Michael, Jimmy and Johnny Birney, and nieces Rita and Karolina of Tarpon Springs Florida. Her brother-in-law Professor George Rapaich (late Helen), niece Juliana Nahhal (Rob) and great nephew, Nikolas Nahhal. Dorothy loved her family and friends, many of whom have passed before her. She loved everything Disney, reading, gardening, teaching and anything to do with children and animals. She gives a special shout of love to her fur baby, Nigel Doodle, a great companion.
Dorothy was a beloved educator for the Windsor Separate School Board, she dedicated 35 years to shaping young minds.
Finally the family would like to thank Dr Bergeron and team at the Hospice of Windsor/Essex County for their compassion during this difficult time.

A heartfelt thank you to Hsa, mom was truly blessed to have such a dedicated, supportive and kind nurse.
Visiting will be held at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 2:00pm-5:00pm and 7:00pm-9:pm with Parish Prayers at 4:30pm. Visiting continues at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (4401 Mt. Royal Dr.) on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 10:00am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Internment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
If you so desire, memorial donations to the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
