Our October Luncheon on the 23rd is the second in the series of six luncheons that we offer our members and visitors. After luncheon we will hear from the travel organization, “Senior Discovery Tours” who are known for handling all the travel details that take the worry from seniors who just want to have new experiences in new places.
The Outreach this month is the Women’s Rural Resource Centre, Strathroy and Area. Donations may include personal hygiene items, paper goods, gift cards or money in the form of cash or cheques. All items collected will be delivered by our members for Outreach, Mary McNabb and Donna Newcombe which is the perfect way to make a donation during this time of a postal workers’ strike.
As usual there will be books to buy for $1.00 and please note this year on the Book table, we have a children’s section of slightly used books, so donate the ones your grandchildren have finished with, in exchange for something new to them. In addition, there is a mystery book for purchase and surprise yourself in reading a “new to you”, author that comes recommended by another member who loves reading.
Normally, payment for the luncheon must be made two weeks in advance by cheque or e-transfer at RWTO.1treasurer@gmail.com. However, in light of the postal strike if an e-transfer is not possible for a member, arrangements may be made for payment by calling treasurer Lynda Faulkner (519-474-0620) a.s.a.p.
