70th Anniversary and Spring Luncheon

The Belleville Branch celebrated 70 years of RWTO/OERO and the 2026 Spring Season at St. Matthew’s United Church on Wednesday March 10th.

President Wendy Bryson welcomed members and guests to our celebration luncheon and gave a special thanks to the team at the church for the festive decorations.

After the business meeting, it was announced that this season’s charity donations for Three Oaks Foundation totaled $1195.

Membership forms were available for the 2026-27 coming year.

The 2026 Cora Bailey Award was presented to Elaner Pound by Jennifer Davis. This award is presented yearly to a member demonstrates the RWTO motto of “Caring and Sharing”. Elaner shared her thanks for the award and encouraged others to get involved with RTO.

Seven beautiful spring flowering plants were given to seven lucky door prize winners. Joan Long won the Share the Wealth pot.

LUNCH – A Spring Tea was the theme and the church ladies served us platters of sandwiches, cheese, pickles, vegetables and fruit. For dessert we were served tiered trays of desserts including scones with cream and jam.

ENTERTAINMENT – Mike Bergeron, a retired teacher, entertained us with his guitar and sang songs that pertained to the months of the school year. His interactive act was enjoyed by all.
