President Wendy Bryson thanked everyone for coming to our September luncheon at Emmanuel United Church in Foxboro on Thursday September 25,2025.
A Social hour was followed by business reports, luncheon and entertainment.
Secretary Report: Minutes of last meeting had been emailed to members. Accepted by all in attendance.
Treasurer Report: Nancy Popovich
Nancy informed us that 64 percent of the membership were registered by the end of June,
Insurance Report: Jayne Ellis
Jayne gave some further details regarding Manulife Insurance, with a focus on hospital and Home care.
Interest Group Reports:
Sign up sheets were available for members to join the various groups.
Diner’s Club – This group meets the second Tuesday of each month, visiting a variety of eating spots in the Bay of Quinte area.
Book Club – This group meets the second Wednesday of each month, rotating homes and
sharing favourite reads with the club.
Bid Euchre – This group meets at 1:00 pm on the third Tuesday of each month at Karen’s house, where new players and veterans enjoy cards and conversation.
Chit Chat – This group meets at Panera on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 1:00pm, where they simply enjoy each other’s company.
Quinte Film Alternative – This group meets every second Wednesday at the Empire Theatre, watching a wide variety of films and then enjoying a debrief with coffee or tea afterward.
Walking Club – This active group meets every Tuesday at 9:30, enjoying a variety of trails in the Quinte area.
Charity Donations: Wendy thanked everyone for bringing in donations for Keep Kids Warm/Adopt-A-Child (Coats for Kids)
Copies of a position paper on Transformation of the “Women’s World” in Long Term Care Facilities to Home-Like Settings were available on each table. RWTO Social Justice committee
prepared these excellent documents. If you would like a closer look at a copy, please contact Wendy.
2026 is the 70th anniversary of our organization. Our chapter will be celebrating in April. More
info to come.

Beautiful mums were given to the winners
A delicious pork tenderloin lunch was enjoyed by everyone. The pie selections were great. Jackie Spalding thanked the women from the church who had prepared the delicious meal for us.
Entertainment:
Keegan Sprague from Sprague Foods. Keegan shared the fascinating history of canning and his family’s business legacy in our area.
