Fall Luncheon Belleville Branch was held at Emmanuel United Church in Foxboro on Sept. 27. The hall was beautifully decorated for Fall and we we served a delicious buffet of pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes, carrots, buns, salad, gravy and a selection of desserts. At our Fall meeting, we welcome new members and introduce the co-ordinators of the Interest Groups. Our charity focus in the Fall is Adopt-A-Child. We raised $1270 for this cause that outfits children for winter. Door prizes of fall mums were won by Joanna Hoekstra, Madeline Prue and Maria Watts. Share the Wealth was won by Wendy Bryson.
After lunch, we honoured seven of our members who passed away this year. A flower and lit candle were presented, as a memorial was read for Maxine Irwin, Roberta Drew, Phyllis May, Marion Brenton, Mary Ellen Coulter, Eileen Freeman and Lena Teal.
Our Fall musical entertainment was Steve Wilkinson, of the famous Wilkinson Family. Steve sang wonderful original songs and entertained us with his stories of recording in Nashville and touring the world with his son, Tyler, and daughter, Amanda. A fantastic time was had by all.
Our next meeting will be held in Belleville at St. Matthew’s United Church on Wednesday November 29th. This will be our Christmas luncheon and the entertainment will be the Heartlight Band with Christmas music.
