Carmen Rose Theresa Eaton
Passed peacefully on December 7, 2025, at the age of 84. She has finally “hit her ace,” leaving behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and a lifelong love of sport, learning, and community.
Carmen was a devoted sister, aunt, cousin, and cherished friend to many. She was predeceased by her parents, Alvina Rose Eaton and Frederick Earl Eaton. Carmen is survived by her brother Eric Eaton, her nephew Eric Eaton Jr, her niece, Angie, her great-nephew and great-niece, Patricia and Julien. She will be missed by many wonderful relatives and friends who were fortunate to have known her.
She was a proud graduate of Forster High School, where she was a lettered athlete, and went on to graduate from the University of Windsor. Carmen dedicated more than 30 years of her life to shaping young minds and bodies as a physical education, Latin, and English teacher at Kennedy, Herman, and Riverside High Schools.
An accomplished and passionate athlete, Carmen played and umpired women’s fastpitch baseball and actively participated in basketball and badminton. She was a dedicated and avid golfer who played with friends and in leagues within the city. She was also instrumental in organizing sporting events throughout her life, contributing to the athletic communities of Windsor and Michigan.
Carmen was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of the Atonement Church in Forest Glade and found joy in simple pleasures, especially the companionship of her beloved cats.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carmen’s memory to the Windsor-Essex County Humane Society.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will take place on Tuesday December 16th 2025 at Families First South Windsor 3260 Dougall Ave from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Inurnment will take place on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
