King, Joanne Darlene
Graduated to glory and safely home with the Lord on May 31, 2024. Predeceased by her parents Albert and Lettie and late siblings and their spouses, Clifford (Lena), Raymond (Margaret), Marion (Edgar) Duke and Margaret (Clarence) Garant. Also, late nephews Ronald, David and Ricky and longtime close friend Betty Jaques. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to nieces, Barbara, Patty, Laurie, Janice and extended family Stan and Heather, who were alongside Joanne during her final journey. Joanne was a retired teacher from GECDSB, a member of Grace Baptist Church and a Dominion Life Member of Canadian Baptist Women of Ontario and Quebec. At the beginning of her retirement Joanne was instrumental in establishing Matthew House Windsor, a temporary residence for newly arrived refugee claimants. Special thanks to 7th Floor staff at Windsor Regional Hospital – Ouellette campus. Also, sincere thanks for their care and kindness to the staff at Hotel-Dieu Grace Palliative Care.
Donations may be directed to Grace Baptist Church or Hotel-Dieu Grace Palliative Care Unit.
Memorial visitation will take place at Victoria Greenlawn Funeral Home (1525 Highway #3) on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 9:00am until the time of the funeral service at 10:30am.
