Klein-Lebbink, Ada Jessie (née Wild)

In loving memory of Jessie Klein-Lebbink who passed away peacefully in her 98th year on Tuesday 14 April 2026. Beloved mother, school librarian, and teacher. She originally came to Canada from the UK in 1954, where she married and had 3 children. She is survived by her children Elizabeth (Betty) Klein-Lebbink(Jerome Scott), Christine (Tina) Klein-Lebbink (Bruce Payette), and Gordon Klein-Lebbink.
She taught for over 40 years at various local elementary schools but spent most of that time at Anderdon. For years she was very involved with local theater groups, loved the Windsor Symphony, the Stratford plays, volunteered at meals on wheels, and gave to a homeless shelter for kids and teens. The children she taught all loved her reading to them as she had the knack of reading books upside down so the kids could see the pictures, and she acted out the voices of the characters in the books. Her reading Shakespeare to the older students was always a special treat as she loved Shakespeare plays. She was also the person who you could call from a pub trivia night with a question, and she would always have the answer.
We all had fond memories of picnics and outings to Point Pelee, especially the ones in March when the weather just got warm enough. Going to see the plays at Stratford with her and camping at parks around Ontario also brought special joy.
She’ll be remembered most of all, for her kindness, but also her sharp intellect, her way with words, practicality, independence, and grounded principles.
Whenever we (her children) needed anything, she was there for us, be it her wisdom, her time, and resources. She set up all of us for successes in our lives and showed us what love and kindness looks like. She will be missed. A very special thank you to the doctors, nurses, PSW’s and staff at Season’s Royal Oak Village, for your loving care and compassion of our mom over the last five years.
