May 2024 Luncheon & AGM

May 23,2024 | London-Middlesex

It was a lovely day for our final luncheon of the year at the Lamplighter Inn. There was the usual buzz of chatter as members greeted each other and prepared for the luncheon and Annual General Meeting. After the meal, Co-President Linda Freeman, thanked the servers for their excellent work, before introducing our entertainment the RWTO choir led by Johanna Hurd. We are lucky to have members who enjoy being in this choir to sing for us at our Christmas and May luncheons.
Past Co-Presidents Vera Rowland and Sandy O’Brien led the memorial tribute to the two members, Kelli Rundle and Julia McNaughton, who have passed away in 2024.

Last month, Pat Savage asked for nominations for the Shining Star Award and she and Co-President Mary Maxwell presented the Award certificate to this year’s nominee, Joan Taylor in recognition of Joan’s contributions in several Branch activities, most notably coordinating the Phone Callers who remind members of the upcoming luncheon, including the Outreach requests and book bag returns.
The finale for the day was the installation of the new executive for 2024-25, led by Mary Jane Finn who is a provincial Past President. Linda Freeman will be President for the next year or two.
It was also announced that we return to the newly renovated RiverBend Golf Community for our luncheon meetings in 2024 – 25. The Program for next year will be mailed out to members in early August.
