Liz Parsons and Ellen Yessis, our Goodwill Convenors visited Mildred who still lives in her long-time home on Allen St. in Waterloo. We gave a book to her called Us little People with stories and photos of Mennonite Children by Carl Hiebert. This gift will recall for Mildred all the years she taught and volunteered at Linwood Public School. As well, we gave a gift certificate from Kennedy’s Restaurant, a favourite of Mildred. Members will honour Mildred at our luncheon on Nov 23rd with a birthday cake. Mildred can’t attend, as she is too frail, but we will bring a piece of cake to her.
