Traditionally in November our Luncheon program includes a performance by our own members’ choir led by Johanna Hurd on the piano. After the choir sang their Christmas repertoire Johanna led the audience in singing popular Christmas songs with the audience. It certainly got us in the mood for Christmas coming in the following month.
Our outreach donations went to My Sisters’ Place in London which is very much appreciated by the women attending the Day shelter where they can shower, be fed, engage in crafts or receive help from Health professionals. We were asked to bring women’s personal items, bus tickets and/or Tim Hortons’ gift cards.
Our luncheon venue always has a Book Sale table and these profits, along with sales of tickets for the 50/25/25 Draw that takes place after the Speaker contribute to our income to offset costs for other activities. Every month each luncheon table has a centre-piece made by our “table-decorations” group of nine members, led by Irene Gauvin.
