Our Luncheon program in October was titled Downsizing and Decluttering with two speakers who worked together – Tanja Bleyert is a Senior Move Manager helping the 55+ population decide on when and how to downsize in preparation for a move while Joanne Johnson works with the same population as an Accredited Senior Agent – Realtor. As our members arrived and found a seat at a luncheon table, they saw each place had a small bag with some gifts and information leaflets from each speaker for future reference. It was a topic that resonated with our members as clearly many have considered their own present or future needs.
Our outreach program for October was the Children’s Literacy Initiatives with books or money being collected and forward to the City Library for distribution to schools where a need for students to receive a book of their own for Christmas. An additional donation of socks for homeless people was introduced this year. There was a plentiful collection of books, money and socks made by our members in October.
